Full Moon in Leo
Yesterday I said Full Moons are a monthly exercise in conflict, compromise and choices. Essentially Astrology recognizes twelve life areas that need attention and development ... areas where you need to devote effort and thought to build a life that's complete, instructive and useful. Along the way, you establish those qualities in yourself.
On paper, Astrologers arrange these twelve life areas in a circle. There, they map the sky -- the positions of the Sun, Moon and eight planets -- at a given moment. This circular diagram is called a chart -- or a horoscope. This is the fundamental tool of our craft and what it contains.

This is what a horoscope looks like -- this month's Full Moon.

The various sectors divide easily into six pairs of opposing segments. Each pair contains one segment where you exercise a lot of personal control -- and pay a lot of attention, and opposite that is a segment where other people, your relationships and connections, and society itself are primary concerns. You have input here, but far less "regulatory power." Here, many other factors are in play.

The Full Moon
All Full Moons bring choices and pose questions. They highlight the fact life itself is all about conflict and options by presenting us with yet another one to resolve ... and work through ... and grow from.
They are notoriously uncomfortable and chaotic, because most people don't understand the process. They don't know what's happening. The choices aren't spelled out. And frankly, many don't like to think this hard. Self-reflection / self-knowledge is one of life's most fascinating assets. But it's not easy ... and most people (many at least) prefer "easy" over the alternative.

Venus in Aries
I didn't actually say much about Venus in Aries yesterday, so let's try this again. When Venus moves through Aries, the Zodiac's first sign, it brings new levels of experience and opportunity regarding money, relationships and pleasure. Old patterns and lifeless connections either get revived or replace once Venus hits Aries. You want new experience, more adventure ... and are more spontaneous yourself.
Aries is highly independent, and like Leo, notoriously self-centered. To Aries, its needs and wishes matter, so when Venus travels here, the pursuit of pleasure, support and attention can all be selfish and unbalanced ... for a while. But if you're single and "in the market," it's a great time to identify your targets and explore your options. Venus in Aries is courageous, confident and assertive. This matters.

Venus in Aries
Well here we are again. Venus in Aries. The start of a brand new cycle. Like Mercury and The Sun, Venus moves quickly, so this happens every year. But still, it feels special. I always look forward to it, because a couple of days after it happens, comes my personal Sun / Venus conjunction. I woke up this morning thinking I need to write a series about these cycles. There is no such thing I can find on the internet.
So, when that happens, "creating my own" is at least an idea -- and I usually follow through on it ... eventually. (It goes in my notes at least. You know how I am about lists.) So, there's another possibility. We'll see what happens. Maybe someone else will read it, maybe not, but I know I'll learn something -- which is why I write content for this site in the first place. Sagittarius Rising never stops learning -- or teaching.)

Mars
In Roman mythology, Mars was the God of War, ranked second only to Jupiter, the King of the Gods. To follow the symbolism, once you have enough individual power to assert yourself and affect your surroundings, and enough abundance to feed and support yourself, and the assurance that you deserve to be here, you can turn your attention to other matters.
Mars was the Roman God of War. (Duh!) But also, strangely enough, agriculture. So, on the second tier of the needs hierarchy, this suggests the ability to cause trouble, push people around and ... ok, defend yourself makes an entrance. But then, you might decide to plant a little garden instead, and confine your aggression to fighting worms and weevils. That should make Mars happy.
