Mars
There's something so unfettered, pure & honest about Mars energy. It is passionate, direct, candid & unapologetic about its desires & motives ... and usually its methods. Yes, those can be corrupted, but that's almost always due to the characteristics of the sign involved (like Scorpio) rather than by pristine Mars energy itself. Still nothing exists in a vacuum & Mars energy always is what it is.
Additionally, what it is ... is important. Mars energy literally fuels the vitality & spiritual force that makes life possible. It's the elemental, essential physical energy that operates the structures & organs of the body -- the organs, muscles & all other moving parts that allow a being to operate in material reality. Call it the Life Force.

Mars
In Roman mythology, Mars was the God of War, ranked second only to Jupiter, the King of the Gods. To follow the symbolism, once you have enough individual power to assert yourself and affect your surroundings, and enough abundance to feed and support yourself, and the assurance that you deserve to be here, you can turn your attention to other matters.
Mars was the Roman God of War. (Duh!) But also, strangely enough, agriculture. So, on the second tier of the needs hierarchy, this suggests the ability to cause trouble, push people around and ... ok, defend yourself makes an entrance. But then, you might decide to plant a little garden instead, and confine your aggression to fighting worms and weevils. That should make Mars happy.

Mars
Mars is Astrology's symbol for the action principle, the way you use physical energy and assert yourself in the world. The cliché "Actions speak louder than words" underscores the value and power of Mars and the way you use this indispensable gift to pursue your desires, defend yourself, express anger and otherwise show what's important to you.
Desires without action behind them are impotent fantasies -- and so are words, thoughts and ideas if there's nothing behind them, nothing in your character, willing to back them up -- and do what it takes to promote them. Yes, what you say and what you value says a lot about your character ... but what you do makes a difference, and for that, it can be all the more impressive and meaningful.

Basic Stuff About Mars ---> About Mars ---> * After Venus, Mars is the next closest planet to Earth. It is located between Earth and Jupiter. That retrograde cycle can keep it in a single sign for up to six months -- or, of course, it can divide its retrograde path between two different signs.

Mars
Venus is our nearest cosmic neighbor. She sits between us and the Sun. Mars is the neighbor on the other side -- the "4th Rock from the Sun." Physically, it is about half the size of Earth. It is also the last of the terrestrial or "rocky" planets -- made of planets mostly metal and rocks providing solid substance and structure for their existence.
Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are this type. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are gas giants. And Pluto is made of rock and ice -- more like a overgrown comet in its composition that any of the other planets in our Solar System. It takes Mars 1.8 years to circle the Sun, but it takes it almost exactly 2 years to complete a trip through the Zodiac ... because part of that time it retrogrades.
