Sun Square Pluto
Pluto squares are often uncomfortable. Squares by their nature show pressure & conflict. Different life areas have different priorities -- which is where the trouble starts because squares pick out the most egregious examples of where life's demands rub each other wrong. Do you satisfy your own needs & desires -- or those of your family -- or your partner -- or your boss? Those kinds of questions.
Sun squares affect your sense of personal power & pride. Pluto squares indicate irresistible change where a loss of control is an underlying theme -- constantly present. Where Pluto resides shows where Life is being torn apart & put back together -- or is about to be -- or needs to be. You don't get a vote. This is an irresistible process. Part of the Life & Death cycle itself. You don't have much leverage or control either.
The Sun in Astrology: Basic Stuff
Sometimes you feel you're just "along for the ride" -- such as it is. Other times, you feel you're being dragged by the hair, kicking & screaming, into a future you never wanted or bargained for -- or are equipped to handle. "Learning opportunities" we call them. How much fun are they? Not much, in many cases. But their value -- & growth options -- are priceless. You are changed forever by Pluto experiences.
So, just as we get two Sun / Jupiter trines every year, we get two squares to Pluto. You deal here with power struggles & control issues, fundamental changes to familiar Life areas. The New Normal, they call it. Which you may or may not find amusing, but it sure is descriptive. Old habits don't work, so you need to learn new ones. You may be able to salvage old goals & expectations. Or maybe not.
Complacency can be fatal.

The Sun in Astrology
The Sun in General -- Your Essential Self of Power, Will, -- Vitality and Ambition ---> The essence of you ---> In Astrology, The Sun represents your basic core identity. It gives information about the qualities of your ego, your individual self-expression, your self-image and your sense of personal identity. It depicts both the essence of who you are and how you define and reveal yourself to the rest of the world.
The Meaning of the Sun in Astrology * -- The Star of your Horoscope -- Its Place in your Inner Family ---> The annual journey ---> Every year The Sun travels through all twelve signs of the Zodiac, spending about a month in each. But calendar months are not all equal in length, and Zodiac signs aren't either. The winter ones are a bit shorter, those in summer a bit longer. Or the other way around, if you're south of the equator. Every planet in a horoscope is associated with a Zodiac sign ... and is said to "rule" that sign. (Mercury and Venus each rule two signs. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo; Venus, Taurus and Libra.) The Sun rules Leo ... and the natural 5th House of the Natal Chart.
The Sun -- Ruler of Leo * -- Symbol of Your Essential Self ---> One of Astrology's "Big Three" ---> The Sun, which supports all life on Earth, is Astrology's symbol for an individual's basic personality, the underlying canvas upon which all the other colors and elements of his character are co-mingled and combined. The Sun and its meaning are the centerpiece in the structure of Astrology. Along with the Moon and the Ascendant (or Rising Sign -- the sign of the Zodiac literally rising on the eastern horizon at the time of birth) the Sun is one of the three most significant components in a horoscope, and arguably the most ....
More about the Sun
* The Spiritual Meaning of -- The Sun in Astrology -- The symbolism of The Sun ---> The Central StarThe source of light ---> The Sun's spiritual meaning in Astrology is the spiritual essence of you! ---> The Sun and The Moon are considered "the luminaries" in Astrology. The word itself means "light source," but The Sun is the only celestial body in the horoscope that gives off its own light. The Moon merely reflects The Sun's light -- from whatever angle it occupies in the sky at the moment ... which creates the changing shape and appearances of The Moon we call "phases."
What The Sun in Your Natal Chart -- Reveals About You * -- The center of your horoscope / -- the center of your personality ---> The Sun ... it's just the beginning ---> Despite its powerful influence in familiar mainstream astrology, The Sun in your horoscope gives a whole lot more information to an astrologer than simply the characteristics associated with its sign. It also describes a whole lot more than just your basic temperament ... the cluster of traits people recognize (and possibly list) when they think and talk about you.
* What Does The Sun Represent -- in Your Natal Chart? -- What is it ... and why is it important? ---> The center of everything ---> The Sun is the unmistakable center of our Solar System. Likewise, the Sun is your horoscope, with its sign placement and house position, describes the core essence of your character..
The Solar Power Series
Solar Power 1 -- A portrait in code ---> The Sun is a central player in astrology and the central feature in a horoscope. It is one of the first three elements an Astrologer looks for when assessing the nature of an event or the qualities of a person's character. The other two horoscope elements that approach the Sun's importance are The Moon and The Ascendant -- or Rising Sign -- the sign on the cusp of the 1st House.
Solar Power -- the horoscope's central player ---> The Sun is the best-known player in astrology, likely because it is both important in interpreting a horoscope and because it's usually extremely easy to determine the Sun's position in the sky from just the date. In other words, you don't need a lot of extra books and equipment to come up with Sun Sign information ... which makes the Sun's position at any given time the basis of ....
Solar Power -- the essence of you ---> The Solar Power Series ---> The Sun in your horoscope represents the self, your personality and ego, your spirit. It describes your basic identity and what makes you -- the individual -- unique. Your Sun energy describes the essence of who you are today and who you are becoming through the events and experiences of this life. I consider that the Sun in your horoscope describes your Essential Self.
More Solar Power
Solar Power -- along a predictable path ---> The Solar Power Series ---> The Sun travels through all twelve signs of the Zodiac each year, spending about a month in each sign. The Sun travels the same sequence of the Signs every year ... starting with Aries at the Spring Equinox ... to Taurus ... to Gemini ... through to Pisces. The Zodiac sign dates and calendar dates, however, are not aligned.
Solar Power -- rules Leo & 5th House ---> The Solar Power Series ---> The Sun rules the Zodiac sign Leo and natural 5th House. In plain English, this means the qualities and attributes The Sun represents are closely aligned -- virtually indistinguishable from -- those associated with the sign Leo ... and closely associated with interests of the 5th House in a Natal Chart ... regardless of the actual sign on that house cusp.
Solar Power -- The Sun in Your Horoscope -- what it does and how ---> The Sun is the central player in your constellation of Inner Selves. His energy is literally the captain of the ship, the chairman of the board, the star of the show. His presence, his interests, his well-being and development are central to your happiness and success. He describes the state of your Essential Self, the person you are and are becoming. He defines your sense of who you are, and he helps you make many important decisions about the course your life will take.
Solar Power 7 -- What it wants -- what it cares about -- and what about the rest? ---> The star of the show ---> Your Sun energy is the central core of YOU. It wants respect. It wants adequate expression. It wants to show off its creative skills. It wants what you accomplish to be valued and important. In achieving that, you feel valued and important.

From the Blogs, Ezines
From EDA: The Sun -- From Everyday Astrology ---> Everyday Astrology July 4, 2021 The Sun ---> The Sun in your horoscope defines the essence of your spiritual being. That's pretty much the standard textbook truth about this fundamental pillar of Astrology. But not all Suns are created equal, & to understand exactly what it reveals about the person or situation you're examining, the art of an accurate interpretation rests in the details. The Sun Sign -- the sign the Sun occupied when the horoscope began -- the "moment of birth" -- provides a framework of interests & attitudes on display in the personality ....
From EDA: The Sun and The Moon -- From Everyday Astrology ---> Everyday Astrology May 24, 2021 The Sun & Moon ---> The Sun and The Moon each have constant, predictable rhythms that form a natural, celestial-based clock that living things, including us ... human beings, feel & respond to. The Sun has an annual schedule, moving into a new Zodiac sign & a new energy about once a month. The Moon follows a monthly schedule, touching base with a new sign every 2 1/2 days. If you get the impression of cycles within cycles, you'd be right. The Sun symbolizes your essential, outward, primary character. The Moon symbolizes your inner world ....
From EDA: The Transiting Sun in Astrology ---> Everyday Astrology April 4, 2021 The Transiting Sun ---> The Sun travels through the 360° circle of the Zodiac every year, a trip that takes about a year. So the Sun moves about 1° a day. The Astrological year begins on the first day of Spring -- the vernal equinox -- at the moment the Sun enters Aries. From there it transits each subsequent sign in turn ... Taurus, Gemini, Cancer ... finishing finally at the close of Winter in Pisces. On this journey it forms angles -- called aspects -- with other planets. Other planets in the sky.
Pluto in Astrology
Pluto: Lord of Transition -- The Power to Rock Your World ---> The planet Pluto, so the news is told, was discovered by accident ... in a world where "accidents" are more mythical than the Lord of the Underworld himself. Twenty-two year old astronomer Clyde Tombaugh was actually on a wild goose chase when it happened, unaware, of course, that his whole mission was based on a mistake -- or that he was about to step into history. He was studying photographs of the night sky over Arizona, pictures taken nearly a month before, searching for an elusive Planet X whose existence was believed to explain discrepancies in the predicted orbit of Neptune.
Pluto: Ruler of Scorpio ---> Pluto -- God of the Underworld ---> Pluto, with its bizarre, irregular orbit, is the last of the discovered planets in this Solar System which the basic metaphorical language of astrology contains. Occasionally it is the outermost of the known planets, although during part of its journey around the Sun it moves inside the orbit of Neptune. There is even some debate about whether it qualifies as a bona fide planet. I say it is the final one of the known planets ... because there are two others which have been mathematically proven to exist - one inside the orbit of Mercury ....
* Pluto -- The Symbol of Irresistible Change ---> When things change ... drastically ---> Pluto. If the idea of this planet and all its metaphorical meanings, all the things it symbolizes out in the real world, don't cause the hair to ripple on the back of your neck and an inward shudder to pass through the core of your body like a sudden gust of frigid wind, well, then you don't know it like I do. People fuss about Saturn ... with its limitations, delays, disappointments, denials, and requirements for "structure." But, I promise you, Saturn is a mild pothole on life's highway compared to the head-on collision Pluto often represents.
