In for the long haul
When Mars is in Capricorn, actions and attitudes become conservative, disciplined, and well-organized. People are steady, controlled, and persistent. This energy has patience and a great capacity for endurance.
It traditionally affects career and professional attainment, and is concerned with public reputation, community standing, and fame. It encourages you to seek authority, honor and prestige ... to be remembered for "who you were and what you accomplished."
Ambition with a capital A
It urges you to be somebody, ... to make your mark on the world. This is a constructive, status-conscious, ambitious energy -- that wants notice and appreciation. At its most assertive, it is interested in empire-building.
It wants personal and political influence and deals well with power structures and authority figures, including large-scale institutions such as government, the political system, business organizations, and the hierarchies of large corporations.
When Mars in Capricorn is stressed, attitudes are unsympathetic, rigid, rules-conscious, intolerant, and cold. There is a snooty, offensive awareness of "status." People are frustrated, limited, and anxious about professional matters, the "pecking order" and their ability to gain goals that affect their careers and public presence. Despite tremendous effort and desire, they feel they are just getting nowhere.
