From Dec 2001*
Mercury, the symbol of rational thinking and intellectual energy, moved into Capricorn around mid-day on Saturday. It will be there until January 3.
When Mercury is in Capricorn, ideas are cautious, conservative, and serious. Thinking shows a strong concern for prestige, reputation, and honor for one's professional accomplishments. This energy is known for being deliberate, disciplined, hard-working, persistent, pragmatic, self-controlled, and reliable.
There may be a very obvious emphasis on meeting responsibilities and commitments, exerting and dealing with authority, working hard, and building for the future. People feel strongly about matters such as discipline, discretion, self-control, endurance, and integrity of character.
Ideas are put forth with determination, tenacity, and careful thought -- and are flavored with a strong respect for tradition. Accordingly, styles of communicating may be scrupulous, circumspect, discreet, reserved, and with clear emphasis on "correctness" in manners and presentation.
Under stress, communication and styles of thinking become pessimistic, critical, severe, bitter, mean, calculating, cynical, grasping, inflexible, unemotional, and even vindictive. There may be far to much emphasis on personal achievement at the expense of human feeling
and the conduct of smooth relationships.

This Ezine has been continuously published since late November 2001. The material is published here mostly for my convenience. It is not intended to be finished, organized, polished or even complete. Some of it may be notes that don't even make a lot of sense, but you're welcome to look at it.
