Mercury in Virgo
Mercury has moved into Virgo. When Mercury is in Virgo, the available mental energy is functioning in one of its best, most forthright forms. Ideas are efficient, meticulous and objective. Thinking emphasizes that which is precise, exacting, methodical, objective, practical, and demonstrably useful.
This energy is known for being selective, analytical and concerned with "perfection." There may be obvious emphasis on "getting work accomplished" and providing a beneficial service for others. People feel strongly about being helpful, effective, discriminating, and applying talents and learned skills in pragmatic ways.
There may, however, be an undertone of anxiety and a fear of being inferior attached to this energy. There may, further, be an unspoken need to "justify one's existence." Accordingly, styles of communicating may be fussy, particular, demanding, and overly concerned with "turning in a job well done."
Under stress, communication and styles of thinking become inconsistent, impatient, insincere, petty, unfocused, narrow-minded, superficial, impractical, critical, nit-picky and fault-finding.
When Mercury is in Virgo, your intellectual energy, your interests, the things you think and talk about center in ... and go to support ... specific areas of your life. Below is a quick sketch of just where this energy is now affecting your personal chart and its placements.
If you have your Sun, Moon, and / or Ascendant in the same sign in your Natal Chart -- for example, both Sun and Moon in Aries, or Moon and Ascendant in Scorpio, or all three in Pisces, there will be an redoubled (or tripled !!) emphasis in the areas of life described below.
If you have your Sun, Moon, and Ascendant in three different signs (the most usual arrangement), you will find all three areas of concern will be prominent in the way you work with mental energy and initiative now - often in ways that combine, support, interfere with, or are otherwise connected to one another.
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Aries: work and service, interest in health issues
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Taurus: creative abilities, relationships with children and brain-children, leisure activities, and things you love to do
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Gemini: private life, home and family
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Cancer: mind, communications, and the use of knowledge
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Leo: money and finance
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Virgo: personal presentation
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Libra: research, planning, artistic inspirations, mysticism, seclusion, inner work and therapy, healing and restoration
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Scorpio: friends and professional colleagues, goals for the future, humanitarian ideals, contributions to social evolution
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Sagittarius: career, public reputation, professional interests, community standing, fame and honor
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Capricorn: intellectual expansion, law, religion, philosophy, foreign perspectives, teaching
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Aquarius: death, permanent endings, joint assets, self-improvement, and the property and abilities of other people
If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Pisces: marriage, "other people,"... and all partnerships and close relationships
