Despite its powerful influence in familiar mainstream astrology, The Sun in your horoscope gives a whole lot more information to an astrologer than simply the characteristics associated with its sign. A lot of people can give a few sentences or even a thumbnail sketch to describe the standard features of each Zodiac sign. Like many generalities, these only go so far. But in case you're not one of those people, here's a condensed version of even that -- to refresh your memory ... or pass the time.

Aries is self-motivating ... and pushy. Taurus is fond of creature comforts ... and materialistic. Gemini is a good communicator ... and kind of a know-it-all. Cancer is sensitive ... and moody. Leo is dramatic ... and self-centered. Virgo is efficient ... and critical. That takes us through the first half of the Zodiac where things are fairly simple. From there, it gets more complicated.

Libra is diplomatic ... and manipulative. Scorpio is shrewd ... and secretive. Sagittarius is philosophical ... and hypocritical. Capricorn is enterprising ... and remote. Aquarius is progressive ... and eccentric. Pisces is understanding ... and fragile. There's a wide range of personal characteristics there, and I guarantee you're not confined to just those associated with your Sun Sign.

Where do you go next?

Once an Astrologer locates the Sun in your horoscope and notes its sign, the very next Sun-related issue he wants to know is its house location. Just as the Zodiac is divided into twelve signs, the horoscope is divided into twelve houses -- making the round circle of the Natal Chart rather resemble an old-fashioned clock face with pie-shaped slices drawn out roughly where the numbers on the clock would go.
